Future Holds New Investment
Areas for CAUW.
After more than a year of work, the CAUW Board has formally approved the strategic plan, Vision 2010, that will provide broad direction in 4 areas: fund development; community investment; communications and marketing; and administrative operations/
organizational structure.
For close to 10 years, CAUW grant funding used to support community programs, has been guided by six community improvement goals. Vision 2010, with a community investment focus to strengthen the tri-county through the improvement of individual and family well-being, has identified 3 priority investment areas:
- Thriving Neighborhoods and Communities
- Families and Seniors
- Youth – Birth to Young Adult
These areas are intended to be broad and inclusive, while being efficient to administer as well as to improve CAUW ability to market the benefits of giving through the United Way. Donors can direct gifts to one of these 3 investment areas or to the CAUW Community Investment Fund.
A new grant cycle using these 3 priority areas will start to fund programs in the spring of 2009. CAUW is currently completing a multi-year funding cycle, reaching thousands of tri-county residents through 60 programs offered by 32 local agencies.
