Employee Campaigns

Each year, hundreds of industries, organizations, institutions and corporations throughout the tri-county area gear up to show support of this community by running a workplace campaign. If your company would like more information about running a campaign, or if you would like to share what your company does during the campaign with others, give us a call or e-mail us. We would love to hear from you.

Individual Gifts

Capital Area United Way - the power dollar! The most important gift is the one given simply to the Capital Area United Way...this fund is called the "Community Investment Fund." Donors can be sure their dollars are invested in the most important services of our community since trained volunteers make the decisions on what programs receive grants. Donors are encouraged to be involved in these annual decisions.

Designations

Donors have a variety of giving options if they'd like to designate.
They can select any combination of the following:

  1. Community Investment Fund
  2. Priority Area. Donors can choose to invest their money is one of the three Community Priority Areas. These dollars are invested by trained volunteers through the annual grant process.
  3. Specific Tax-Deductible Organization. Donors can "combine" their giving to Capital Area United Way and another organization of their choice. For those with a payroll deduction option at work, this is an easy way to handle all your charitable giving at once. It is important for donors not to "replace" their United Way gift with one to a specific organization, but rather combine their gifts. The designated organization must have a government status of 501(c)(3). If you choose to direct your gift to a specific agency, your donation to EACH organization must be a minimum of $50.00 to cover the costs of processing designated gifts and to keep administrative costs low.
